Support Hungary’s young talent to compete internationally.

Budapest Ballet Grand Prix, the newest high standard ballet competition in the heart of Europe, not only welcomes the greatest ballet professionals of the present to work with, but also takes pride in cooperating with the true legends of the country’s history for a common and noble goal.
This autumn Budapest Ballet Grand Prix greets three Kossuth Prize-winning ballet artists, Ms Adél Orosz, Mr. Gyula Harangozó and Mr. János Kiss to take part in a cooperative charity auction with one of Hungary’s most authentic and prestigious brands, and the leading brand of one of Europe’s most famous wine regions, Grand Tokaj.

The proceeds from the auction will go to two talented students of the Hungarian Dance University who, based on the proposal of the University’s Student Council, are in the most needy social situations, participating in Budapest Ballet Grand Prix 2024.

Items of auction:

5 Puttonyos 1964 Aszú/Muscatel Alcohol: 13%

Background:
1964
The first hippies appear, the PFSZ is formed, the first part of the Doctor Who series is presented.
The Beatles sing Hard Day’s Night, Nicolas Cage, Russell Crowe and the beautiful Sandra Bullock are born.
After the deaths of Leo Szilárd and General MacArthur, a long, warm summer ripens the grapes to perfection in Tokaj.
The autumn is similarly long and balanced, so it was possible to collect perfect, first-class muscatel raisin grains in the wine region, from which high-quality muscatels were made.

THE TASTE OF TERROIR

We have been producing a single-vine- yard Furmint from our Kővágó planta- tion in Mád since 2015. Needless to say, this is a wine produced only in the most outstanding vintages, when the stars are aligned. 2021 was the first vintage in which four different Furmints were pro- duced from the four historic, first-class vineyards we own. The grapes were har- vested at the same time, processed in the same way, with the same technology by our head winemaker Károly Áts and his dedicated team. Our aim was to present and experience the terroir character of our vineyards in the clearest and most exciting way, through our wines.

PETŐ FURMINT 2021

Alcohol: 14,5%
Total acidity: 6,2 g/l
Residual sugar: 3,9 g/l
Sugar free extract: 20,9 g/l

A volcanic vineyard with south-east exposure on the outskirts of Tolcsva. Several varieties of Fur- mint are planted in a traditional stake vineyard on the top of the hill. Floral, perfumed nose with oak and mineral undertones. Despite the warm vintage, the palate is lively, round with a per- sistent finish, offering delicate white peach and grape flavours. Friendly and attractive, showing perfect bottle maturity.

KŐVÁGÓ FURMINT 2021

Alcohol: 14%
Total acidity: 6,4 g/l
Residual sugar: 4,7 g/l
Sugar free extract: 23,7 g/l

Hand-picked, fully ripened Furmint from the Kővágó vineyard in Mád. The fragrant nose offers hints of white flowers, peach and minerality, fol- lowed by a full, long palate with complex acidity. The fine notes of toasty oak complement the excit- ing floral, fruity and mineral aromas typical of the volcanic site. This is still a young wine: it opens slowly in the glass and promises a long life ahead.

SZARVAS FURMINT 2021

Alcohol: 14%
Total acidity: 7,1 g/l
Residual sugar: 6,6 g/l
Sugar free extract: 21,3 g/l

This is an exceptional plot on the southernmost slope of Tokaj Hill, with loess topsoil deposited on black dacite substratum. A sunny, steep hill- side overlooking the Great Hungarian Plain. Tight acidity, elegant and balanced. The nose offers the heady scent of meadow flowers with a touch of aca- cia and pears. Ripe fruit on the palate: peach, fresh pear, juicy summer apple. Long finish, delicate notes of oak with some roasted aromas.

MESZES FURMINT 2021

Alcohol: 14,3%
Total acidity: 6,2 g/l
Residual sugar: 8,1 g/l
Sugar free extract:
21 g/l

Located between Olaszliszka and Erdőbénye, this south-east facing vineyard boasts diverse, partly chalky soils. The grapes were hand-picked and se- lected in October at full ripeness, and were pressed after destemming. A rich, complex wine, offer- ing aromas of juicy grapes, ripe flat peaches and meadow flowers. Despite its young age, it is per- fectly ready for consumption.
