After two great, but tiring days, the prestigious jury of the Budapest Ballet Garnd Prix has reached its decision. It has been decided that the finals of the 31-nation event will be of a very high standard on Thursday at the magnificent National Dance Theatre in Budapest.
Márta Fodorné Molnár, the rector of the Hungarian University of Dance Arts, which organises the competition, said:
“It is great to see this year’s event. The level is better than it was at the first competition. It was a pleasure to see talented ballet artists from all over the world, from five continents. Even those who didn’t make it to the finals won’t be finished, because tomorrow they can continue working with great masters at the University. And I wish all the finalists very good luck!”
Tamás Nagy, the competition director, thanked the jury for their work and drew attention to the fact that this competition is also an opportunity for development. Not only for the ballet artists, but also for the organisers.
“I hope you all enjoy the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix. Two days are over, but there is still a long way to go. The ballet artists can now concentrate on the finals and I am very happy that they can show their skills in front of such a prestigious jury. The standard is good, and today was better than the first day. The young artists are used to the place. I hope everyone can perform even better tomorrow.
