After the great success of the first competition, the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix (BBGP) team has started the immediate preparations for the 2nd BBGP. The 2024 competition will take place between 18 and 22 November.
The good news is that the competition will once again take place in two of the Hungarian capital’s iconic cultural venues, the ultra-modern National Dance Theatre and MÜPA Budapest. The competition will take place in the magnificent Dance Theatre, the Gala in the world-famous MÜPA Budapest on the banks of the Danube.
As we said in the first competition:
BBGP aims to become the most renowned and respected ballet competition in Central Europe. The competition offers young dancers an opportunity to compete and gain exposure in the international dance scene, provides scholarships and career opportunities for the most outstanding dancers and can convey the values and achievements of Hungarian culture, dance and dance education to the world.
The feedback from the first Budapest Ballet Grand Prix proves that all of this was achieved. Almost 150 dancers from 23 countries registered for the competition and the large international event was, in the opinion of the great jury, organised perfectly and of a high standard.
In mid-November 2024, Budapest and the Hungarian Dance University will once again be the heart of the ballet world. Therefore, the Organizing Committee has meetings on a weekly basis to develop the programme and organize the event.
We can guarantee that the jury will again be world-class, the conditions here are really great, the city is exciting and we will create plenty of opportunities for joint work, professional development and international contacts. We believe that the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix is a meeting point for the profession and a major step forward in the careers of ballet artists.
