It has been announced that the competitors of the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix (BBGP) due between 21 and 24 November 2023 will be able to use the Budapest public transportation free of charge during the event.
The Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the Hungarian Dance University (HDU) and the Hungarian Dance University will organise their first independent international ballet competition named Budapest Ballet Grand Prix (BBGP) between 21 and 24 November 2023.
The BBGP will provide young dancers with an opportunity to compete and gain exposure on the international dance scene, offer scholarships and career opportunities to the most outstanding dancers, and promote the values and achievements of Hungarian culture, dance and dance education to the world.
Originally, a total of 132 competitors from 23 countries have registered for the BBGP. Following the pre-selection process, 90 ballet dancers are expected to take part in the competition.
Following the 24 October press conference entitled “One month before the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix”, a number of donations were offered for the event. The Budapest Public Transportation Company BKK indicated that the competitors of BBGP will be able to use the Budapest public transportation free of charge during the event.
Speaking of donations and prizes, special awards and scholarships will be offered at BBGP. A 2,500-euro MMA Award will be given to the best Hungarian competitor, a HDU International Summer Intensive Ballet Course (ISIBC) will be offered for 4 candidates, and a one-year scholarship will be awarded to HDU for two people.
